The treatment depends on stone size and location. Stones under 5mm often pass spontaneously. 5–15mm stones are treated with RIRS (Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery) using laser. Stones over 15mm or in difficult locations are treated with PCNL (Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy). Our urologists will review your CT scan and recommend the least invasive approach.
Most patients are discharged within 3–5 days with a catheter, which is removed at 7–10 days. Recovery to normal activities takes 2–4 weeks. Return to work (desk job) is typically possible within 2–3 weeks. Sexual function and continence recovery varies by patient and nerve-sparing approach.
Yes. Medical management with alpha-blockers and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors is the first-line treatment for mild BPH. For moderate to severe symptoms, minimally invasive procedures like laser prostatectomy (HoLEP), UroLift or TURP are offered.
